Merry Christmas!! It is the 26th here, and a public holiday called Boxing Day. When I looked it up on Wikipedia, it said that this holiday is based on giving gifts to the less fortunate members of society, and also kicks off the after Christmas sales shopping.

We went to the beach on Christmas eve. I took some pictures of shells, thinking they would be a good desktop background.

I met a bat rehabilitator, who was caring for orphaned flying foxes. You can see how big they are in the pictures I am holding them, and they are just babies!

The picture of the grassy area is where we sometimes eat lunch, it looks out over the beach. We also feed the seagulls that never fail to be present when we are eating.

Hi everyone! Sorry it has been awhile since a new post, there hasn't been too much new stuff with us. We went searching for a Pizza Hut restaurant today, we found one on the internet, only to get to Rocky and find it had been closed, and the carry out Pizza Hut guy did not know of any other sit down pizza restaruants. So we decided to get carry out and go to a park, but it turns out all of the carry out Pizza Hut places were closed. We ended up with Subway, and went to a park by the Fitzroy River in Rocky to eat it. It was a nice park. There are also some neat old buildings down by the river, I will take pictures of more when I get a chance.

The donut is a "Fresh Cream Long John," our favorite thing from the bakery. "Hungry Jacks" is Burger King, literally, they share the same menu.

The crab visited our garage one night. I went to shut the garage door and as I turned on the lights, I heard this crazy clicking noise, needless to say, it scared me a little bit! I shooed it out with a broom. It was about as big as my fist.

Great Keppel Island

This weekend, Danny and I took a day cruise to Great Keppel Island. We got to ride on a glass bottomed boat over some coral. Then we snorkeled for a couple of hours on the reef, there were some cool fish, and lots of them. They fed us lunch, then we got to ride on a boom net, which is basically just a net they hang off the back of the boat. That night, there were carols by the beach, with a lot of people there, kids running around having a good time, we watched for a while, then went and ate dinner. It was nice to hear some Christmas Carols! They don't really play any on the radio. On our way home, there was a large snake in the road next to our apartment, I would say about 3 feet long! We almost ran it over, but instead backed up and took pictures and watched it crawl off the road. Thankfully, it was crawling away from our apartment.
