Hi everyone! We finally made it up and out to watch the sunrise on our beach at about 5:45am, it was beautiful! I had fun taking pictures of it. We also went fishing, and Danny caught one! I think it is a type of cod. It is the biggest fish we've ever caught, a lot different from farm pond fishing! We just went to a rocky outcrop, and used prawns (big shrimp) for bait. You cast your line out and let it sit. The people fishing next to us caught a baby hammerhead shark, and a baby great white shark! Many times I would pull my line back in after awhile, and the bait would be gone, but no fish! Hopefully we can try some different spots around town, and catch some more fish!
I found a job at a Pineapple farm, helping to package pineapples that are sent across Australia to places like Melbourne, Sydney, and Perth. It is nice to have something to keep me busy, and I am learning a lot about Australia from my co-workers. They can't believe I don't like Vegemite (a sandwich spread like peanut butter, but not so good).
Tropical storm Hamish past by us on the coast, with little effect on us. It was windy for an afternoon, and it rained quite a bit, but that's all, thankfully! There were precautions taken in town just in case, including the hospital being evacuated. When I went to the grocery store the morning before the storm was supposed to pass by here, they were completely out of bread and water!
