Ivy, Wendell and Kyle were over to visit, and while they were here we went to the Gold Coast! It was a good trip, even though the weather didn't quite cooperate. We stayed at the Q1 Resort and Spa. On the 51st floor, we had a great view! (They should pay me for advertising.)
The first night we took a jet boat ride, which took us by some expensive houses, one looked like a castle, and one had a titanium roof worth a million dollars! The next day we went to the beach, it was really rough! We tried surfing, but were not quite successful due to the non-stop rough waves. On Saturday, we took a fishing charter out to try our hand at deep sea fishing. Some got sea sick, and the fish weren't biting. But we got to see the sunrise, and the view of Surfer's Paradise from the ocean was great! On our last day we visited Tambourine National Park. Took a couple walks through the rainforest, and looked around some local shops.
We enjoyed eating at Hard Rock Cafe, where the food and service was great, and the ketchup was free. As opposed to the restaurant that charged 50 cents per packet. We've noticed at some of the restaurants here the service is different. You look at the menu, then go up to the counter to order and pay for your meal, then to a different counter to buy your drinks. They bring your meal to your table.
