White Water Rafting!

Today we went White Water Rafting on the Tully River. It was an adventure! I was nervous, but by the end I had a blast! We were on the river for 4 hours, going through about 20 rapids, and enjoying lunch on the river with a view of a pretty waterfall. It was a long and exhausting day, but we're glad we did it!

Emerald Creek Falls Pictures

Here are some pictures from Emerald Creek Falls. The water was cold, yet refreshing in the hot sun! The waterfall was one of the best we've seen, and it was cool becuase we could walk down right next to it. We found a little water slide that was safe to go down, it was fun!

When we were leaving, we saw a bird called a Kookabura. I like them because they have a really cool call, sounds like they're laughing! This particular one seemed to be posing for us. It landed on a small dead tree, about 10 feet from us, and just sat there and let us get close to take pictures.

The year is almost over! It has been great! Danny's mom came back for a couple weeks, and we are having fun going on a few last adventures. We've been out to the reef snorkeling, and recently went to Emerald Creek Falls. Emerald Creek Falls is about an hour away from where we live, with a beautiful waterfall, and some great swimming holes.

We hope to make it down to our beach for sunrise, and plan on going white water rafting, and taking a day trip out to Fitzroy Island. Should be fun!

We are looking forward to coming home, but will miss the weather and scenery here. It has been in the 80s and 90s for the past few weeks!

Wallabies

There is a field near our apartment that on most evenings has quite a few wallabies grazing. Wallabies are like kangaroos, but smaller. Danny and I recently walked there and saw one with a baby in her pouch! How adorable!

We also hiked up a nearby trail. It was a kilometer to the top, lots of stairs and hills, tough climb! The view at the top was pretty, though!

Dust Storm

There was a dust storm in Sydney, and it is interesting to see the pictures of the places we were at covered in dust! It hit there on the morning of the 23rd, and then I heard about it traveling up the coast to Brisbane, and by the morning of the 24th it was here! It is not near as bad as it was in Sydney, but you can smell the dust when you go outside, and it just looks foggy. Check out the following links:
