Last weekend we went to Capricorn Caves, which is a little less than an hour away. It was a cave, like most others, but in all, a fun afternoon! We took a tour and the guide was very knowledgeable. There were many Bent Wing Bats in the cave, I was not able to get a picture, you will have to look them up. Some of the pictures are a little fuzzy, we were not supposed to use a flash in the cave. In the end, we wound through a tight tunnel and crossed a swinging bridge. Then we saw a wallaby, one that can maneuver easily on rocks and hills. There was a hiking trail we walked on, and saw a very large toad! It was about the size of 2 or 3 american toads put together!
Danny is all set up and working, 4 am to 2 pm. The picture of the water beetle is in a bucket outside our door that we use to wash our feet in.
I would like to send a g'day mate to Miss Heitmeyer's class, and present them with a challenge:
What is a Kookaburra?

Sweet! Thanks...my class will get back to you after Thanksgiving break...they'll love that!!
My class says it is a bird...then they sang a song for me... :)
Great job! It is an australian bird that has a really cool call, sounds like it's laughing. There was one at the Blank Park Zoo when I worked there, and I've seen a lot over here!
