We're here!
We made our final flight, and checked into our hotel yesterday afternoon, it is right across from the beach. We walked there this morning, and it was great! There was no one there, and it was low tide. I saw a really cool bird with a long, curved bill, but couldn't get close enough to see it good. There were also some strange bird calls that woke us up this morning. I will be posting some pictures as soon as I can. I am at a internet cafe, we bought an adapter for the electricity, and the little box on our power cord converts the volts. First thing we did yesterday was find the American equivilent of Wal Mart- Big W, and a grocery store. They are at a new shopping centre here, easy to find and get to! We are currently working on exploring the town, we found main street with a lot of shops and real estate places, for us to find a apt./house to rent and the branch of our Au bank account. . We got cell phones today, and purchased an international calling card thing that gives us 1300 minutes, but we only have 150 minutes per month each on our cell phones, they are pre-paid. We will be trying to call home probably this afternoon. I will post our phone numbers later, you can call us from your phones probably. It is 1:15 on Firday here, and according to my watch, 9:15pm there? There is Mcdonalds and Subway here. We found a shop that sells the kabobs, but have not got any yet. We made it from the airport to the hotel fine, it was a little strange driving on the wrong side of the road, but Danny is getting more used to it. The round abouts are an interesting experience also. The signs are really helpful, and it helps to watch other traffic. There are palm trees, and pretty flowers, ocean breezes, ect. I will try and figure out the time on this thing so it is set to Iowa time. Our hotel is good, the guy who checked us in is really nice, it is air conditioned, with a mini kitchen, basically what we need. We stayed up until 8 pm last night, then I was up around 5 am, Danny was up around 9. Everyone is really nice and helpful here! I think we picked a good location, the town is fairly easy to get around, as it is not too big, and it is next to the beach. It is about 86 degrees here, shorts and tank top weather!

So glad that you called and I got to see you on the web-cam. You guys look pretty tired. I have been monitoring the weather in Rockhampton all day and it said it was going to be 90. I guess you left just in time, here in Iowa we are suppose to get some rain and snow tonight and it is about 36 tonight.
Love you lots, Mom
